Jill Timmons has performed internationally as both a solo and ensemble
artist.
Her recitals at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and the National Gallery of Art
received public acclaim and her Chicago debut on the Dame Myra Hess Series was
broadcast live on WFMT to 400 cable stations nationwide.
Internationally, Timmons has
toured throughout Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain and Chile. In
the
U.S., Ms. Timmons has toured under the auspices of the National Endowment for
the
Arts, was a recording grant recipient from the NEA, and has been heard on
National Public Radio.
Committed to American composers, her discography includes The
Complete Piano Works of William Bergsma (Laurel Records-1993), Chamber Music of
Dexter Morrill (Capstone Records-1997) and The Violin/Viola-Piano Music of Amy
Beach (Centaur Records-1997).
Timmons has also performed with pianist Judith Cohen. The Cohen/Timmons
Piano Duo has appeared extensively throughout the Northwest, often providing
master classes and residencies for solo and ensemble pianists.
In Tandem: Music for Two Pianos (Capstone Records-2003) is a compilation of

In addition to her NEA awards, she has also won, with co-author Sylvain
Frémaux, the Wilk Prize (1998) from University of Southern California
for
groundbreaking research on the Polish composer, Alexandre Tansman.
She holds a DMA degree from the University of Washington and a Master of
Music degree from Boston University. Presently she combines concerts and
recording work with an artist-in-residence position at Linfield College in
Oregon.
